Ninth Month of Pregnancy: The Symptoms You May Encounter

Congratulations! You’ve finally made it to the ninth month, the month you’ve been waiting for since the first morning sickness started getting the best of you. Even now, you will still feel the same old symptoms. Nevertheless, you’ve already grown too desensitized to notice them at all. Or you may be overwhelmed by the idea of finally seeing your baby.
Physical Symptoms
- Indigestion
- Flatulence
- Heartburn
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Occasional headaches
- Occasional dizziness or possible faintness
- Whitish vaginal discharge, increasingly heavy with significantly more mucus, even red/brown/pink tinges
- Pink toothbrush, or bleeding gums
- Occasional nosebleeds
- Nasal congestion
- Ear stuffiness
- Hemorrhoids
- Mild swelling of feet and ankles, sometimes of hands and feet too
- fetal movement, less kicking and more squirming this time
- Leg cramps
- Backache
- Navel protrudes
- Enlarged breasts
- Itchy abdomen
- Easier breathing this time
- Clumsiness, increasing
- Difficulty sleeping, increasing
- Pelvic and buttock achiness and discomfort
- Colostrum, possible leaking from nipples
- Increasing Braxton Hicks, now more instense, sometimes even painful
- Frequent urination is back
- Appetite is increased, or in some cases decreased
- Nesting syndrome, or extra energy, fatigue, you may experience alternation periods of these two
Emotional Symptoms
- Relief, finally you’re almost there..
- Increased excitement
- Increased apprehension
- Increased anxiety
- Increased absent-mindedness
- Oversensitivity
- Irritability
- Restlessness
- Dreaminess, mostly about the baby
And there’s the good news—Most symptoms are not universal!
